NEET PG 2013: Supreme Court likely to declare verdict today

The Supreme Court is expected to take decision on February 12 regarding separate entrance exams of NEET PG 2013 for state governments and private universities for admissions in medical courses.

Earlier, state governments and private universities had objected to a Medical Council of India (MCI) decision for a common entrance test.

The results of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) will be declared based on decision taken by SC.

Private colleges have started conducting their own entrances for Medical as Supreme Court has delayed the results of NEET PG.

The Medical Council of India(MCI) had announced the National Entrance-cum-Eligibility Test, an all-India exam in February 2012. However, several state government and private colleges raised objections.

The Supreme Court is yet to pass the verdict regarding the results. However, when the results are declared, candidates can check the result .

Qualifying criteria for PG-NEET 2013

In order to be eligible for admission to any postgraduate course in a particular academic year, a candidate has to obtain a percentile of 50 and above in ‘National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Postgraduate courses’ held for the said academic year.

For candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, the minimum percentile will be 40.

Over 95,000 candidates registered for the PG medical entrance exam. The examination took place at 50 centres in 33 cities across country.
